Weidenhammer has a long history of providing custom development services to meet our clients' unique reporting needs. While we specialize in writing custom programs and applications against the Pearson Student Information Systems (SIS), including but not limited to PowerSchool, CIMS and SASI™, we have the experience and skills to write applications that interface with any local SIS a district may be using.

We offer the following custom solutions:

dbConnect Solution This solution is the required middleware software that enables PowerSchool clients to use the existing Weidenhammer custom add-on solutions with PowerSchool. Accessing the Oracle database, dbConnect generates a folder of compatible files to connect to and run an add-on solution. Using Windows task scheduler, this program can be scheduled to run on a daily basis.

Fees The Fees program directly reads pertinent information from PowerSchool via dbConnect and can automatically generate fees for a variety of reasons, including, but not limited to, textbook rental, consumables, courses, grade-level fees, graduation, and yearbooks. Categorical fees can be automatically pro-rated for early withdrawals based on percentages or fractions of a term. Elementary fees can also be automatically calculated and assigned based on grade level. Statements are printed for each student at registration and receipts are printed as payments are made.

Attendance Letters This add-on product allows schools to create an unlimited number of letter formats using a built-in Letter Designer and merged PowerSchool data fields. Letters are generated using “triggers”, a combination of user-defined daily, period or course criteria. Letters can be run on a schedule and emails can be sent to teachers and guidance counselors notifying them when a letter has been generated for any student they work with. Once a student accumulates the number of absences defined in a trigger a letter is generated only once for that trigger. Mailing labels can be created to send letters home to parents.

Electronic Report Card The Electronic Report Card (ERC) is an object or standards based report card for those elementary schools interested in automating report cards and progress reports. Report cards can be designed for use at middle and high schools. ERC provides web-based tools for teachers for entering marks and comments to be included in report cards. The final product is an electronic report card generated by Adobe Reader™ that can be printed or sent as an email attachment. ERC interfaces with your SIS to automatically capture absences and student information to be included on the report card. Comments may be selected from lists or hand-keyed. Pre-selected comments automatically insert student first names. PowerSchool student, enrollment and attendance data along with schedules will be imported into ERC via the dbConnect Solution. Other features include, but are not limited to, Multi-language capabilities for up to five languages, grading reports and security settings.

Discipline Letter Generator The Discipline Letter Generator program allows schools to create an unlimited number of letter formats using a built-in Letter Designer and generate custom discipline letters based on user-defined discipline criteria and merged PowerSchool data fields. Letters may be generated for specified discipline incidents for a single student or letters may be mass generated based on specified criteria. Audit records may be archived to a separate database for backup.

PocketSchool ™ Equip everyone from bus drivers to district administrators for an unforeseen disaster by synchronizing your PowerSchool data with your handheld technology. Student information, including but not limited to, emergency, medical requirements, demographic, parent, discipline, attendance and class schedules, is available at the touch of a stylus for anyone with a handheld and proper security rights.

Locker Assignment Solution Locker Assignment enables PowerSchool™ districts to mass assign lockers in a quick and easy approach. Designed to utilize a desktop "feel" environment inside a web browser. You can easily enter and maintain your locker information from year to year and mass assign students to lockers based on grade, gender, reservation status, and more. Once done, an extract file can be quickly created to import the data into the PowerSchool™ database.
